History Of Kickboxing
Kickboxing is Japanese hybrid martial art bescially
comprising of elements of punching and kicking. It was
developed by adapting fighting techniques from Karate,
Western Boxing and Muay Thai. It originated in 1960s in
Japan and gained practitioners in America during the next
10 years. By 1974, popularity in United States was
symbolized with The First World Championship being held
by Professional Karate Association. By the 1990s.
The History Of Kickboxing In Pakistan
Pakistan Kickboxing Federation was founded by
Muhammad Aslam Ch. in 1987 in at Lahore. After the death
of M. Aslam Ch. in 1992, his students Faisal Waseem Ch,
Shahbaz Ch, Rana Ijaz Pasha and Shahid Ch. Ran the
mission in all over Pakistan. In current scenario Rana Zahid
Mehmood Secretary General Pakistan Kickboxing
Federation running this mission along with Dr. Asad Abbas
Shah President Pakistan Kickboxing Federation and
Secretary General Pakistan Olympic Association (Medical
Commission), Muhammad Shahid Ch. Finance Secretary.
PKBF have more then 1800 clubs in Punjab, KPK, Sindh,
Baluchistan, Azad Kashmir, Islamabad and Gilgit Baltistan.
PKBF providing a healthy activity through kickboxing in
young generation. PKBF is also having team of kickboxing
in various government departments I.e. Police, Wapda and
Pakistan Railway.
